Welcome to Author Spotlight with Katie McKnight. Today’s guest published his Young Adult, near future Science Fiction novel entitled, Points of View – The Weapons, on March 11, 2013.

Please tell us a little bit about the book you wrote.
In my first novel “Points of View,” Horace Mayberry, a young Londoner who often dreamed of becoming a special agent, had lost his eyesight. However, a government scientist, Professor Oscar Freeman fitted him with artificial eyes, with superhuman abilities, using nanotechnology. After training, Horace with his mentor, Aubrey Jackson, embarked on a series of adventures causing his remarkable eyes to develop new abilities, as each new situation demanded.
In this sequel, POINTS OF VIEW – THE WEAPONS, Horace learns that the professor has been designing a weapon, using the intelligent nanotechnology developed for his eyes, but five of the first six prototypes have been stolen!
Horace, Aubrey Jackson, and a new team member, Harry Jenkins, face deception, intrigue and dangerous adventures as they travel through England, France and Austria in their quest to recover all of the weapons and discover who is behind the robbery. Horace’s experiences cause his dreams to become even more vivid, his personality to further evolve, and his eyes to develop even more amazing abilities, as he needs them, including the ability to interact with the stolen weapons..!
How did you begin your writing career?
Very early. I sold my first three tales back in the fifties..!
Who is your book published through?
My current one is via Createspace, but the first of my novels was via Eternal Press. They wanted the next one too, but I decided to try it by myself.

Where did you get the inspiration for this book?
My dear old friend, the famous SF author Harry Harrison, said I must write a novel, and not just short stories if I want to be successful… so I did.
What else are you working on?
Volume 3 in the series, PoV3 – The American Connection, and it’s about 60% ready.
Did you conduct any kind of research in order to write this book (visit certain locales, etc.)?
Over the years I have visited all the locales for my stories and the current novel(s) so the settings are authentic.
What tools/methods have you employed to promote your book? What advice would you give to writers regarding promotion?
I try everything, but it gets more difficult with so much competition about nowadays. Mainly though, I never give up!
Do you need visual media to describe people or places? (Some authors use pics. out of magazines)
No, I’m still enjoying a long life and I’ve been and seen very many places around the world, and worked with many people. So my own resources are full of interesting possibilities.
Is there anything else you would like to say to your readers?
Yes, don’t forget to buy my next title, and any of the earlier ones you missed.
What is usually your first thought in the morning?
I wonder how many e-mails I’ll get today. The average is about 62 at the moment, plus the ones that drop automatically into the Spam file.
