I Love You and The Over-Protective Mom

I admit that I am an over-protective mother. Anytime my children question my over-protective tendencies, I tell them I make the rules because I love them more than anything in the world.

Several years ago, my son went to lunch with my sister-in-law, my niece and her friend. The girls were six years old and my son was seven. The friend questioned the reason my son used a booster seat.

He told her, “My mom makes me sit in this seat because she loves me.”

The girl pointed out that she was younger than my son and her mom did not make her sit in a booster seat. My son’s expression grew sad.

He turned to the girl and said, “I guess your mom doesn’t love you as much as my mom loves me.”

My poor sister-in-law almost choked on her fries.
